FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How much should I tip?
Since tips are not included in the trip cost, we do recommend 10 to 15 USD per day for the guides & 5 USD for the drivers. However, these are entirely at your discretion so feel free to tip more or less; at the end, it will all come down to your perception of service and quality – a tip is not compulsory and should only be given when you receive excellent service.
What’s the weather like?
As we are in the rainforest, the weather is humid with the following temperatures throughout the year LOWEST: 22°C (71°F) – HIGHEST: 28°C (82°F)

What is the currency? Are there ATMs? Can I pay with credit card?
In Ecuador we use the US American Dollars.
You will find ATMs and most establishments take card as payment method. However, it could be the case that for the lack of connection, you won’t be able to withdraw money nor be able to pay with card, that’s why we recommend you come prepared with some extra cash.
How much are meals there?
It will depend on two factors: 1. What you eat 2. Where you eat. Regarding food, prices can vary between $10 – $20 + Drinks, per person, in the city.
As for beverages, you will find everything from water to most alcoholic drinks. When a drink requires water, restaurants will use purified drinking water, so there is no need to worry.
