World Nomads Insurance with coverage of 200,000 USD.

What is the currency? Are there ATMs? Can I pay with a credit card?

In Ecuador, we use the American dollar.

You will find ATMs in most establishments that accept cards as a payment method. However, it may happen that due to lack of connection, you cannot withdraw money or pay by card, so we recommend that you come prepared with some extra cash.

How much do meals cost there?

It will depend on two factors: 1. What you eat 2. Where you eat. Regarding food, prices can vary between $10 – $20 + Drinks, per person, in the city.

As for beverages, you will find everything from water to most alcoholic drinks. When a drink requires water, restaurants will use purified drinking water, so there is no need to worry.
